The annual Dilworth Criterium has built quite a reputation in the bike-racing community over the last three decades. With its exhilarating course around Dilworth’s Latta Park - an uphill start/finish, followed by a sweeping downhill into a technical corner, and then a drag race back to the finish — it regularly draws top talent. Many world-class riders have raced here such as the “National Championship Brothers” — Wayne and Dale Stetina in the ‘70’s, Olympic Silver Medalist and World Professional Bronze Medalist Steve Bauer in the ‘80’s, and, in recent years, 2005 Tour de France stage winner, George Hincapie.
